2. The Lion King The hit Broadway musical comes to Kansas City through November 16. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

3. American Royal BBQ The annual feast of lip-smacking BBQ is this weekend at the Royal. Get tickets.

4. First Friday It's First Friday in the Crossroads Arts District. Did you know: The Crossroads is one of the largest arts districts in the US.

5. PetFest at Ren Fest In addition to the fun activities at the KC Renaissance Festival, Pets are the featured attraction this weekend. All pet fees will be donated to local rescue groups.

6. Kansas City Siamese Rescue The organization is holding a garage sale today and tomorrow, 79th & Blue Ridge in Raytown. Proceeds go to the group's puppy rescue projects.

7. Free Admission at the Zoo Live in KCMO? You can go to the zoo for free, during normal hours in October and November. Be sure to bring photo ID and something that shows where you live.

8. Lexington Apples, Arts, & Antiques Festival Historic Lexington, MO plays host to this annual festival this weekend. It features a parade, live music, food, an apple bake-off, and an auction with emcee Maria Antonia.

9. US Croquet Association Championships The organization is holding its national tournament this weekend in Shawnee, hosted by the local croquet group. It's the same croquet you play in your backyard. This is going on at the Mid-America Sport Complex, 20000 Johnson Drive (just west of I-435). It's free to watch.
