GRANDVIEW, Mo. -- A woman died in her Grandview home Tuesday evening after a fire broke out in her bedroom, according to investigators.
It happened at 7000 East 143rd. Firefighters are unsure of what started the blaze, but said it may have been sparked by unattended smoking material.Ivory Robinson, 48, was found in a bedroom. Authorities have not determined the specific cause of her death.
Robinson's family and friends heard what happened Tuesday night and gathered at the home, even as firefighters were still searching through the remnants of the fire.The Missouri State Fire Marshal's office is investigating what happened.
