BELTON, Mo. -- A single mother and full-time student had her car stolen in Belton on Sunday, KMBC's Lara Moritz reported.Without her car, Andrea Phillips has no way to get her 2-year-old son to day care, or to get herself to the college she attends in Warrensburg."I'm a single parent. I'm trying to go to school to get my education degree. I commute 50 minutes away, so it's very difficult not to have a car," Phillips said.
Phillips said she'd just gotten the car back from being repaired two days before it was stolen. Phillips is using her mother's car for now, but needs to find a permanent solution."I really don't want people's pity. I don't want money. I just want prayers. I want somebody to notice the car, see it stranded somewhere," Phillips said. The stolen vehicle is a 1987 light blue Chevrolet Celebrity. It's a four-door vehicle with a Central Missouri State sticker in the back. Anyone with information about the theft should call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
