Woman Arrested Several Blocks Away

POSTED: 9:27 pm CDT April 12, 2004
UPDATED: 7:33 am CDT April 13, 2004

An officer was injured when he was struck by a vehicle near the corner of Linwood and Troost Monday evening, KMBC's Tom Corvin reported.

The incident apparently happened when the officer asked a woman to step out of her vehicle at the Central Patrol Division. Instead, she drove away, striking the officer in the leg as she left, police said.

An officer assaulted call went out, and police pulled the woman over at 27th and Campbell, where she was taken into custody.

The officer who was struck is expected to be OK.
