Dion Lim joined the KMBC 9 News team in July 2007. She anchors KMBC 9 "FirstNews" weekdays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on KCWE.

Dion came to KMBC from the NBC affiliate in Springfield, MA, where she was a general assignment reporter. Prior to reporting, Dion worked in the newsroom of the FOX affiliate in Hartford, CT. She is also the recipient of a Society of Professional Journalists award for feature writing, and was recently named Kansas City's "Best Morning News Anchor 2008" by Pitch Magazine.

Dion graduated cum laude from Emerson College, majoring in broadcast journalism with a concentration in science. This is Dion's second time in a Hearst-Argyle newsroom. While at Emerson, she interned in the Chronicle division at WCVB, the Hearst-Argyle station in Boston. In addition to a major scholarship, Dion helped pay for school by selling on eBay, eventually becoming a Powerseller. She also writes the popular blog "Dion's Daily Deals" about her adventures in savvy spending.

When she's not working, Dion enjoys cooking, travel, working out, spending time with friends, selling and buying on eBay, and getting to know the Kansas City community. She's the proud owner of a yorkie named Georgie, and a miniature dachshund named Frankie. (Both have serious trouble with the command "sit".)
