KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The KMBC 9 Fan Club is back in business this summer.

For more than 20 years, the fan club has helped provide a fan to low-income families during the summer.

This year, there will be a limited supply of air conditioners for those with medical disabilities.

The club is sponsored by KMBC-TV, Westlake Hardware, the Salvation Army and Appletree Phone Service.

The fan club will continue until the end of August.

KMBC encourages cash donations or new fans. Used fans cannot be accepted because of safety concerns.
